Tuesday, June 22, 2004:

Today I cut out the four back braces from some Aircraft Spruce stock I had on hand. I then traced the 15' radius arch onto the braces, sanded the arch on the disc sander, and then refined the arch by sanding the brace bottoms on my 15' radius dish.

Here I am gluing them on the back in my go-bar deck.

I always love using the go-bar deck --- it always makes me think of graceful ballerinas, for some odd reason. . .

Tomorrow I will carve the braces and apply the center back strip.

TO THE RIGHT: The back, showing the ebony backstrip.
