Monday, May 28th, 2001 . . .

Just a little step today. . . . I found some time to make some end blocks out of some spruce I had, and then I glued all the blocks (two end and four corner blocks) to the mold. The blocks are only spot-glued to the lower half of the mold, as the top half of the mold will be removed later, to allow access for gluing the linings onto the rim.

After the glue sets, I will level the blocks flush to the top and bottom of the mold, using a sanding board.

I have leveled the end and corner blocks flush with the top and bottom of the mold.

Next I drew the shapes of the corner blocks onto the levelled blocks and cut them out with my bandsaw.
