Well, here it is . . . I cut out the inlay pieces yesterday (white mother of pearl), then routed out the inlay cavity. I stuck the character pieces on with superglue, then filled the cavity with epoxy tinted with black. I think it came out fairly well.

By the way, the kanji characters mean "bottom of / under the pine tree" --- "matsu" is pine tree and "shita" means bottom.

So I suppose this means the ideal place to play this ukulele is while sitting under a pine tree.
