More in Seattle (and Tacoma) !!!

Still Monday , July 25th, 2011:

Came back from the Space Needle and spent the afternoon in Pikes Place Market. Ate at the Athenian Inn (where I had a delicious salmon lunch), bought souvenirs, and bought a DVD from a fabulous Pikes Place card magician (I am determined to learn a card trick or two!).

At the top of the little hill just above the Market:

After that, I walked a few blocks to see the Seattle Central Public Library, a fantastic place!

Some more photos of the library:

Finally, on the way back up to Lynnwood and the hotel, I stopped at the Dusty Strings music store, located in the Fremont district of Seattle, a wonderful place where they sell all sorts of stringed instruments.

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011:

In the morning, drove down to Tacoma to visit the Tacoma Museum of Glass, of which I had heard great things. Couldn't take any photos inside the glass galleries, but did take a few outside the building and in the glassworkers' studio.

The dramatic entrance to the museum:

They have a neat tradition, as shown below, of master glassblowers producing glass works inspired by children's designs:

Finally, a photo of the glassblowers' studio, and a little video of them in action:
