Building the Soundbox

Above, I have clamped the sides, which I have just finished bending with my electric bending iron, to the mold. This is to hold their form until I can glue on the neck and tail blocks, shown to the right.

Above, the neck block.

I have drilled and countersunk holes through the neck block, for the hex bolts and washers that will attach the neck to the body.

This is the tail block.

Here is the side assembly in the mold, after I have glued the neck block and the tail block to the sides. The soundbox is beginning to take shape!!

Here I am gluing the kerfing to the top and bottom edges of the sides. I am using regular old stationery clips, which fit perfectly over the angled kerfing, clamp tightly, and are readily available from any office supply store.
