Fret Press Arbor

This is a fret press arbor. You attach it to your drill press, place your slotted fingerboard on the drill press table (I press my frets in before the fingerboard is glued to the neck), place the fretwire piece over the slot, position the arbor over the fret, and press. The bottom of the pressing arbor is radiused to conform to the radius of your fingerboard surface. I put a little Titebond glue on the fret tang before I position it in the slot. The fret press inserts the fret evenly and solidly (you can hear it kind of "pop" into place), and there are no dents or dings from hammering away at the fret. I have a damp cloth ready, so I can wipe away the glue squeeze-out immediately after I've pressed a fret in place.
